LiDAR Sensor for UAV-based Laser Scanning

The RIEGL miniVUX-3UAV is an ultra-lightweight airborne laser scanner engineered for seamless integration with UAS, UAV, or RPAS platforms. It features selectable laser pulse repetition rates of 100 kHz, 200 kHz, or 300 kHz, delivering up to 100,000 measurements per second within a 120° field of view. This enables the generation of dense, high-resolution point clouds, making it ideal for UAV-based missions that demand the precise capture of fine details and small objects.

The RIEGL miniVUX-3UAV features a compact and robust aluminum housing, making it ideal for platforms with limited space or payload capacity. Its 360° field of view ensures complete environmental coverage for comprehensive data capture. Designed for flexibility, the scanner includes an easy-to-remove SD card for onboard data storage and supports LAN-TCP/IP streaming, while its low power consumption enables effortless integration with most UAS/UAV/RPAS systems.

Leveraging RIEGL’s advanced Waveform-LiDAR technology, the miniVUX-3UAV performs echo digitization and real-time waveform processing, enabling multi-target resolution that effectively penetrates dense vegetation. Its laser wavelength is also optimized for reliable measurements over snowy and icy terrains.

Beyond the standalone sensor, RIEGL offers fully integrated system solutions combining the miniVUX-3UAV with IMU/GNSS units and imaging cameras, providing a ready-to-deploy, high-performance UAV LiDAR mapping platform.
