RIEGL VQ-1560 III-S

Dual Channel Waveform Processing Airborne LiDAR Scanning System

The RIEGL VQ-1560 III-S is a next-generation, high-performance dual-channel airborne LiDAR scanner engineered for both ultra-wide area mapping and high-density point cloud collection. Its well-established “cross-fire” scan pattern, which consists of two scan lines angled against each other, offers a forward and backward view toward the edges of the swath, while maintaining a nadir view in the center, delivering outstanding point distribution and sampling accuracy.
Thanks to pulse repetition rates of up to 4.4 MHz, the system can operate efficiently at altitudes up to 1,600 m AGL, or even 3,900 m AGL when run at 560 kHz,enabling flexible mission planning for varying surveying scenarios.

The VQ-1560 III-S delivers up to 2.93 million measurements per second on the ground, backed by online waveform processing and full-waveform data recording for rich, information-rich point returns. Its advanced design also includes atmospheric clutter suppression and multiple-target capability, allowing the sensor to extract detailed returns even in complex environments.

Built to integrate seamlessly with modern platforms, the unit includes a high-performance IMU/GNSS system and supports up to two high-resolution RGB or NIR cameras, making it ideal for combined LiDAR and imagery missions.
