Small and Lightweight Topo-Bathymetric Airborne LiDAR System
The RIEGL VUX-820-G is a compact and lightweight topo-bathymetric LiDAR system, designed to perform simultaneous topographic and bathymetric scanning from airborne platforms, especially UAVs. It comes as a complete “all-in” package, combining a high-performance LiDAR sensor, an integrated RiLOC-F inside inertial navigation system, and an RGB camera to augment LiDAR data with synchronized imagery.
With a measurement rate of up to 100 kHz and a scan speed of up to 50 scans per second, the VUX-820-G provides high spatial resolution for detailed mapping of both land and submerged features. Its multiple-target capability and online waveform processing, along with full waveform recording, ensure accurate capturing of complex surfaces in challenging environments.
This system achieves high accuracy ranging through echo digitization techniques, enabling reliable topographic and bathymetric returns even in variable water conditions. Thanks to its compact, robust housing and lightweight design (5.7 kg), it is particularly suited for UAV integration or mounting within payload pods for crewed aircraft.
